Up And Running In A Minute.
Everything you need to get Diala answering your phone — and what happens on the call once it does.
Get started
Diala answers your phone when you can't. Setup takes about a minute and three steps — no IT, no contract, no setup wizard.
- Create an account. Signing up provisions a dedicated phone number for you immediately. Nothing to configure first.
- Forward your line. Open the mobile app and flip the forwarding toggle. We dial the carrier codes that route your missed calls to Diala — your own number keeps ringing first.
- Let it pick up. When you don't answer, Diala does. It greets the caller by name, takes a real message, and texts you the transcript.
Core concepts
Numbers
Every workspace gets at least one Diala number. Calls that reach it — directly or via forwarding from your real line — are handled by the agent attached to that number. Manage numbers under Dashboard → Phone numbers.
Agents
An agent is the personality and rules behind a call: its voice, its system prompt, and how it greets and signs off. Diala ships opinionated defaults, but your prompt is law — if you tell it to end with goodbye, it ends with goodbye. Create and edit agents under Dashboard → Agents.
Caller intelligence
On first launch Diala syncs your contacts, so the agent can greet your sister by name and treat a sales call differently from a doctor's office. Every conversation is shaped by who's actually calling.
Sessions
Each handled call becomes a session: the transcript, a clean summary, and anything the agent promised on your behalf. Calls aren't recorded — the transcript is the artifact. Review them under Dashboard → Sessions.
Voices
Pick from Amazon Polly's generative and neural voices, then write the system prompt yourself. Set the voice and prompt per agent — different numbers can sound and behave completely differently.
Disclosure & compliance
The first sentence on every call discloses that the caller is speaking with an AI assistant acting on your behalf. This is intentional — it's required in a growing number of the regions we operate in, and it's right regardless. Diala does not sell your data or train models on your calls.
The stack
Diala runs on AWS. Your calls and records are scoped to your account and isolated from every other tenant — see Security for where each layer runs:
| Layer | Service |
|---|---|
| Auth | Amazon Cognito |
| Model | Amazon Bedrock |
| Voice | Amazon Polly |
| Storage | Amazon DynamoDB |
| Telephony | Twilio |
API reference
A REST API for provisioning numbers, managing agents, and pulling session transcripts is in progress. We'll publish the full reference here when it's ready. Want early access? Email hello@diala.ai.
