Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Every new account gets a small free credit grant to try a real call. We only ask for a card when you're ready to add more credits.
How is a call billed?
We charge for the seconds Diala actually spends on the line with a caller, at that assistant's exact per-minute rate — rounded to the second. Calls that never reach the AI — busy signals, no-rings, instant hang-ups — don't cost anything.
Why do some models cost more per minute?
Every model has its own published rate, shown on this page, that already includes the phone call and voice synthesis. Premium and frontier models cost more to run, so they draw down your balance faster than an economy model — you always know the exact rate before you assign a model to an assistant.
Can I bring my own phone number?
Yes. Port-in takes 2–10 business days depending on your carrier; we handle the paperwork. You can also forward your existing line to a Diala number without porting.
What about international calling?
US, Canada, UK, and EU numbers are included. Other regions are available with a per-minute surcharge that matches our Twilio cost — we don't mark it up.
How is my data handled?
Calls and transcripts are tenant-scoped to your account, never used for training, and deleted on the retention schedule you pick. See the Security and Privacy pages for the long version.
Do credits expire, and can I get a refund?
Credits never expire and there's no recurring charge to cancel. Unused credits aren't refundable, but there's nothing to remember to cancel — just stop buying more whenever you like.
